You have no idea HOW MUCH I love this cartoon and the music from it (I've ganked like a gazillion of the songs from youtube)

But no Raya?! Wha?!

What made you take up this toon?

Raya will come later. I didn't realize when I bought the quote/un-quote "First and Second seasons of Jem" DVD that it was really just the first season. So, I'm into the original quartet right now. The "complete series" is on its way. I LOVED Jem and the Holograms!!! I think they should do a new cartoon like they did with Strawberry Short Cake, GI Joe and the Thunder Cats. It's time, Hasbro!!! I was SO inspired by the new doll (that I MUST have)-- that I just had to draw them. Something tells me it's going to be drama getting that severely over priced doll. (It really IS "playline" quality. Not a swipe, but true.) I thought the original dolls were atrocious. But, they get props for taking it seriously. Almost Star Wars serious with the number of dolls and outfits they came out with. (I wasn't collecting then.) I'm looking forward to these new ones. I MUST have Jem & The Holograms and The Misfits.

I am a huge fan as well. The clothing and accessories on the original dolls were decent replicas of the ones on the show.

I am glad there's interest in remaking Jem, but the new hollywood Jem doll looks like Pizzazz of the Misfits. Compare it to the group shot of the misfits in the cartoon's introduction.

Well, I'm still in love with Jem. And, I'm excited about this series. I'm loving the fact that they're putting the dolls out again. Disappointed that they're SO hard to get!!! Hollywood Jem sold out at Comicon. The pre-orders on the first wave (Classic Jem, Rio Pacheco, Synergy and Jerrica Benton) sold out quickly!!! I didn't even know they were available. :-( Now, I'm obsessed with getting them. I did find Jerrica. But, folks are gouging collectors at $500 a pop for Hollywood Jem!!! They'll probably do the same with this wave. Bastards!!!
